Homepage > Events > Parent and Child | Carnival Prinjolata

The Prinjolata is synonymous with Carnival in Malta with confectioners all over the island selling it over the counter. But did you know that it is easy to put together at home and really fun to decorate yourselves? The Prinjolata began as a way for confectioners to creatively use up their stock of sweet delights before the start of Lent and therefore variations abound. But one thing is certain it’s delicious! The chef instructors will first demonstrate how to make the various elements involved including the Madeira cake, the rich buttercream and the meringue icing. They will then go on to show you how combine everything and layer them to create the Prinjolata shape. All the components will then be laid out and you and your child will be given the opportunity to choose which ingredients you would like to use to build your very own. The best is saved till last when the participants all get creative decorating in the most bombastic way using anything from chocolate to candied peel to cherries to make  the Prinjolata as Carnivalesque as possible!

Each booking (1) is valid for 1 parent and 1 child.
Recommended age is 6+

The session will be peppered with interesting facts about the history of Carnival in Malta as well as photos of Carnival through the years that will definitely make the children chuckle!

All  the organisers ask is that participants turn up on time so they can all get started together!
