FLOWERS AND ARTS FESTIVAL
 BISAZZA STREET, SLIEMA
 7th, 8th & 9th JUNE 2012 – 10am-8pm
 The Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs (MRRA), together with
 the Sliema Local Council, will be organising a Flowers and Arts Festival
 in Bisazza Street, Sliema, between the 7th and the 9th June 2012, from
 10.00am to 8.00pm. On the 7th June, a public holiday, the shops in this
 commercial centre will be open. This is another activity forming part
 of the Naturalment Malti campaign with the aim of increasing public
 awareness on local agricultural produce.
 The main theme of this Festival is flowers and arts. With the
 participation of local nurseries, during these three days Bisazza Street,
 will be transformed into a floral, artistic garden. These companies will
 be embellishing the environment of this commercial zone while, at the
 same time, they will also be offering their services and products to
 those in attendance.One will find a wide variety of Maltese traditional artisan handicrafts
 such as lace, loom woven rugs and blankets, cane baskets and
 furniture, filigree items, pottery, ceramics, the Maltese Clock (tal-lira),
 wood restoration, gilding and more. Exhibition space will also be
 dedicated to the arts of painting and sculpture. During the festival
 artisans and artists will be exhibiting their talents in their respective
 craftsmanship.
 The background of this activity shall be music. Throughout the three
 days various musicians will be entertaining those visiting Bisazza
 Street. This activity caters for all the family and it will be offering an
 opportunity for adults and children alike to get closer to nature and
 art. The young ones can try their hands at different crafts and even
 plant-potting.
 Local artisan food products and delicacies such as Maltese cheeselets
 (ġbejniet), honey, olive oil, sweets and wine will also be available
 during this Festival.
