A photography workshop for children and their parents with Futura Tittaferrante.
Urban Wonderland Tales is a nine-hour photography workshop to be held over 3 days, during the Easter holidays 2015 for children and their parents. This workshop will be guided by Futura Tittaferrante with the help of the St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity team.
The workshop will guide the participants towards:
– The discovery of photography as a means of expression
– A way to share their experiences with the world
– The chance to show their own vision and let it last through time, through the choice of a single fragment of reality.
Participants will learn how to tell their own stories, express their own perceptions and relate their own experiences through the use of images. The workshop will show how to dwell upon a moment in time, discovering in a light, ironic way what hides behind things we often only see on the surface and often without even noticing their presence.
The final part of the workshop will be creating a small hand-made artifact which is a construction made with different materials such as papers and cartons, interpreting how we imagine our city to be. All participants will be assisted in an actual moment of practical stagecraft, by creating sets of miniatures and then photographing part of the sets and creating new imaginary corners.
These workshops allow parents to share in the fun of learning new photographic techniques alongside their children.
Parents may opt to bring along their own cameras giving them the ideal opportunity to make the most of their photographic equipment.

Capacity: for a maximum of 36 participants Children participating must be 10+ years
