Birgu/Vittoriosa it's one of the famous and historic three cities. The Birgu fest has gained great popularity with locals and tourists alike.

The festival offers everything from re-enactment of historical events including full costume, entrance into museums and churches, a peek into the grand, privately owned Birgu homes, food and drink, artisan stalls and even a film festival is incorporated. The purpose of the event is to highlight Birgu’s long and interesting past and its fine architecture – hence the re-enactments of past events. Museums stay open late and their entry fees are also reduced during Birgufest. Public buildings and churches open their doors to the public and the streets are decorated to make everything much more jolly! 

Birgu by Candlelight on Saturday night brings the city alive as if in a different era, when not a light bulb is to be seen but thousands of candles light up the narrow streets lined with plants and flowers – a beauty that must be seen to be believed.
