The 10-week creative expressive programme led by HCPC registered dramatherapist Diana Cauchi supports children and adolescents to gain the tools to improve the way they perceive themselves.
The goal of these sessions is to provide a safe space to help children to strengthen their interpersonal skills and improve their verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Sessions will revolve around creating drama and fiction as a way to helping children to understand themselves in new ways using their own language; i.e. play.
The child or teenager will be invited to create, play or replay fictional characters that might be to difficult to explore in real life (e.g. replaying the victim in a bullying situation through a fictional character or vice versa).
Each group will be made up of no more than 6 children to allow for individual attention from the therapist and to provide the opportunity for each child to voice their experience.
Different groups for children aged 5-7, 8-11 and 12-15 years.
