The Malta Horticulture Society, with the kind permission of the Minister for Education, would like to invite all Primary and special school students, on their own, or entire classes or schools, to participate in the following competitions.
Class 84 Best Bottle Garden/ Terrarium
Class 85 Best Poster promoting the preservation of local flora
Class 86 Vase of Flowers
Class 87 Basket of fresh Flowers
Class 88 Ornament made of flowers and plant material
Class 89a Basketry, Raffia weaving, Collages made with plant material
Class 89b Macrame’
Class 90 Best Flowering plant in pot
Class 91 Best foliage plant in pot
Class 92 Best Cactus or Succulent in pot
Class 93 The best model of a garden
Class 94 Window boxes (containing live plants)
Class 94a Model of a local farm Class 94b Container of fresh mixed fruit ( quantity 6)
Class 94c Container of fresh mixed vegetables (quantity 6)
Class 94d Plants growing in a hanging basket
Class 94e Preserved fruit or vegetables (in jars)
This year the Hon. E. Bartotlo, Minister for Education will be distributing the prizes to winners of the Schools section , as well as certificates of participation to both schools and students, on Sunday 15th May at 11.30 am. At San Anton Gardens.
The prize giving ceremony for winners of all the other competitions, will be presided over by the President of the Republic and will be held on Sunday 15TH May at 7.00pm at San Anton.
The support of all the teaching staff is essential for the success of these competitions, which after all encourage our students as from a tender age, to contribute in a practical way towards the promotion of mother nature and of our natural environment.
