On the 25th of July 2015 Malta has been drawn to play against England, Slovakia, Scotland, Slovenia and Lithuania in group F of the qualifying round of the World Cup Russia 2018. Malta's matches kick off on September 4, 2016 at home against Scotland, before facing England at the Wembley Stadium. As many Maltese support British teams, the clash against England is eagerly anticipated.
Another crowd-puller is the game against Scotland, with Slovakia, Slovenia and Lithuania completing the group.
