A moonless sky, the ideal time to observe two groups of nocturnal creatures, bats and moths.
The event will commence with a lecture on the subject and a demonstration on the use of a bat detector, used to locate and identify bats.
Participants will also learn about nocturnal insects and the use of moth traps. Moth traps consists of an ultraviolet lamp placed in front of a white background. Moths are attracted to the ultraviolet rays and end up in the trap where they can be studied before being released.
The event will end with a visit of the cave and light refreshments.
Tickets: €12 for Adults; €10 for HM Members, Seniors, Students and children under 12 years of age.
