As part of the Valletta International Baroque Festival 2017 and on the occasion of Malta's hosting of the EU Presidency, Teatru Manoel and the Arts Council Malta are offering a free performance of the following production to secondary school students (aged 12+)

"Atys en folie"

A ‘parodie’ of Atys by Lully
by Jean-Philippe Desrousseaux
based on the works of Fuzelier, Orneval and Carolet (1726 and 1736)
and produced by the Centre Musique Baroque de Versailles

A parody is first and foremost a hilarious show.
The show mixes wooden comedians and real life actors-singers who interact with the puppets.
As in the original parodies, the music is a mix of pieces borrowed from Lully’s operas and irreverent popular songs of the time.

SEATS ARE LIMITED AND GIVEN OUT ON A FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVED BASIS
