Where else in Malta can you begin your day on a farm? With a basket full of hay and goodies, your children can spend the morning learning how to care, feed and snuggle with the animals at our farm in Magħtab. We organise supervised fun-educational activities for children from ages 6-14, and give them the opportunity to do the following:
1. Animals – Besides the general knowledge that will be given to the children about farm animals in particular, they will also learn how to feed and care for the animals, learn about the kind of foods that are fed to the animals, and how to handle the animals in a kind manner.
2. Fruit and vegetable plot – Want to get your kids outside to enjoy all that nature has to offer? Gardening with kids of any age encourages their interest in nature and enthusiasm early on in life, and will give them invaluable basic skills and an understanding of how the whole of the ecosystem works. At Sunflower Farm, the children can plant different kinds of seeds and discover how plants grow.
3. Scavenger hunt – This is a fun activity that will stimulate the children’s mind and body. Each child will be given a piece of paper with photos of various farm animals and food related items, that they will have to hunt for carefully, collect and display.
4. Grooming and Pony rides – The children will be given some basic education on horse care and handling, and will have the chance to learn how to groom a few ponies. Once the ponies are clean and shiny, they will be taken up to the equestrian arena that is layered with soft rubber, and each child will then have a ride on a pony and a ride on the carriage.
This event will take place at Sunflower Pony Club every Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost per child for each morning is Euro 15.00.
We handle a limited number of children so booking in advance is highly recommended.
