Children are to participate in a 48-hour non-stop sailing marathon in aid of Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary.

Organised by the Vikings Sailing Club, the event is scheduled to start today at 6pm and carry on until Sunday at Marsamxett.

The public is encouraged to support the children's marathon by visiting the club at Hay Wharf in Floriana over the weekend where they will have the opportunity to gave a go at sailing the club's dinghies against a donation to the charity.

Refreshments will be served and a raffle will be run.
