CHRISTMAS AT THE PRIORY

Kick off your Christmas festivities with a Musical Aperitif followed by a Memorable Evening Dinner in the Cloister of St Mark’s Priory, Rabat

The Priory of St Mark in Rabat will open specially for FAA’s Christmas Concert and dinner on the 12th of December. The evening will begin with a repertoire of Christmas music :

Flimkien ghal Ambjent Aħjar is proud to team up with The Johann Strauss School of Music Malta in presenting some of its most aspiring student-performers who are studying voice, woodwind and contemporary music. A selection of music from all genres will be presented with music ranging from early Baroque to contemporary arrangements with a Christmas theme.

Enjoy Malta’s budding talent and support their performance, as they are so generously supporting the cause of saving Malta’s artistic heritage.

Following the concert, guests will be invited to continue the evening in the indoor cloister surrounding the central courtyard of the Priory built by Andrea Belli in 1740.
Welcome drinks and canapes will be served on arrival and a four-course Christmas meal, inclusive of coffee, a glass of wine and water, will then be served in the cloister by Bart Saive Caterers.
FAA is undertaking the restoration of a unique late medieval four-panel ‘tempera on board’ altarpiece in order to ensure that this priceless work of art will be enjoyed by future generations. This unique set, found at the Augustinian Priory of St. Mark in Rabat, dates to the late Medieval period and depicts the Madonna of Graces with flanking panels dedicated to St Paul, St Augustine and St Catherine. This work of art has been described as “one of the most important art treasures in Malta” due to its rarity and fine quality.

The concert and dinner are to be held on Monday 12th December 2016 (eve of the public holiday), at 7.30pm at the Augustinian Priory at Triq Santu Wistin, Rabat.
