Malta’s very own clown doctors now have their own changing room and storage facilities.  Sponsored by the Playmobil WE Fund, a joint fund between employees and management, Dr Klown is proud to have a wooden cabin which is going to be used by its 20 clown doctors.

Speaking at the inauguration, Maurice Sleypen, President of Dr Klown said that over the past four months over 1200 children benefitted from the 86 visits its clown doctors performed in Mater Dei.

Children, families and even nurses experienced the improvised acts the clown doctors performed bringing smiles and laughter in hospital wards.

Mr Sleypen added that following a rigorous selection and training process, there are 20 clown doctors which tour the wards on a weekly basis in teams of two or three clowns.  Following the growth of the NGO it became necessary to have its own facilities and Dr Klown is proud and honoured to have found the support of the Playmobil WE Fund in Malta.

In its drive to increase awareness of its services, Dr Klown will be organising the first Dr Klown Day on the 18 October at Tigne Point.  A whole day of activities and entertainment is planned for both adults and children.
