This year’s edition of the Earth Garden Festival returns with a 3-day festival starting on Friday 6th June until Sunday 8th June 2014 at Ta’ Qali National Park.

The 2014 Earth Garden will again feature two main areas: The Greek Theatre Main Stage and the Open Village. Same as previous years, this edition we will be growing in terms of areas, a larger footprint for the camping site, longer hours, over 50 plus acts, increased number of stands and an introduction of a new area.

The Greek Theatre, synonymous with the ‘big’ shows at Earth Garden, most of which are normally sold out, will host three music concerts over three nights. This year’s edition will surely be a special one with the exclusive concert by The Beangrowers and Brikkuni, on Sunday 8th June. This will be both bands only performance for this year. On Friday 6th June, Xirka Rock will take the audience to a journey of Rock music highlighting their best of Xirka Rock editions as well as a Woodstock special. On Saturday 7th, the Greek Theatre will turn on the lights for Airport Impressions, where they will be performing their new album “Mariette” live, for the first time.

The Open Village, the heart of Earth Garden, as per previous editions will host the Roots Stage, the Electronic Sphere, the Camping Area, the Why Not? Jamming Area, Ethnic Market, Holistic Area, the V.18 Art Square ,The Enchanted Forest , The Smiley Fun Park and a Moroccan Shisha Chill Out area.

The Roots Stage, where 25 acts will be performing throughout the festival, will be a showcase of talented local artists including The Rifffs on Saturday, who will also be launching their much awaited 2ndSunday, after the Greek Theatre concert. Foreign bands will also feature on the Roots Stage, peaking at the start on  album and Tribali the closing act on

Friday, with the performance from Caravana Sun, an Australian band, as well two Spanish acts on Saturday and Sunday. Other performing artists include, KazinSka, ManaTapu, Kantaliena and Plato’s Dream Machine, just to mention a few! The Electronic Sphere will be set in a new location, double in size and will open at 6pm. This will be hosted by The Underground Movement on Friday, on Saturday by Presence featuring the world famous psychedelic artist Armin Boom Shankar from Germany and on the closing night, Sunday, will be hosted by Earth Garden residents, Perpendicular.

The Why Not? Jamming area captures the roots of the Earth Garden Festival – “the festival is reaching new heights and growing every edition, nonetheless we look forward to keep this area as raw as possible – this is where it all started where artists freely express themselves and capture the true essence of Earth Garden” said Reuben Spiteri, another member of the organising team.

The ever-popular Ethnic Market will entice the festival crowd with a visual spectacle provided by various market vendors displaying a cornucopia of ethnic items, conjuring up a feast of colours. In the Holistic Section, one can find various educational stands, NGOs and workshops. The Festival site will also increase the variety of food stalls offering tastes from around the world.

The V.18 Art Square will present a work of art by renowned artist Emanuel Bonnici; the installation ‘Lampuki’ will cover an area of about 50m squared. The artwork will be made out of corrugated cardboard, an environmentally friendly material which can be easily recycled.

The 3-day ticket for the Open Village will be available online at €5 until the 15 May 2014; as from the 16 May 2014 onwards they will be on sale for €8.
