A unique opportunity to experience Għar Dalam in the moonlight. This event features presentations by John J. Borg (Senior Curator Natural History) and Paul Portelli (Executive Għar Dalam) as well as a moonlight tour of the site and cave followed by refreshments.
The lowermost layers of this extraordinary cave are more than 500,000 years old, and contained the fossil bones of dwarf elephants, hippopotami, micro-mammals and birds among other species. It was here that the earliest evidence of human settlement in Malta, dating back to around 7,400 years, was discovered.
