Guided Walk around Majjistral Park by Nature Trust
Saturday 2nd March at 10am.
This walk will focus on the biodiversity of herpetofauna (reptiles and amphibians) of the park as a follow-up of the past lecture by Arnold Sciberras. He will be accompanied by his brother Jeffrey Sciberras who will highlight the habitats and vegetation of the park as we go along.
Meeting point: Golden Bay Bus Stop. Allow about 3 hours for the walk. Wear suitable shoes for walking on uneven terrain along a route of about 5Km.
Adults: Eur 5, Children (7+) /Students/Pensioners: Eur 3. Nature Trust Members join free.
Arnold Sciberras has been studying the Maltese natural history for many years focusing mostly on entomology and herpetology. He also has a special interest on the microhabitat of the minor islets and rocks of the Mediterranean. He published extensively on these subjects focusing mostly on new records and observations on the behaviors of several species.
Jeffrey Sciberras graduated as Scientific officer in the agricultural sector, has been studying the Maltese natural history for many years focusing mostly on Mediterranean botany. Like his brother Arnold, he also has a special interest on microhabitats of the minor islets and rocks of the Mediterranean. He has published on these subjects focusing mostly on new records, and has also contributed many articles about flora and fauna for young children and adults alike.
