An upcoming event this Saturday 20th September at 7pm at the Majjistral Park Visitor Centre:

In search of the Shearwater –
A talk about Calonectris diomedea on Malta, Gozo, Filfla, Linosa, Zembra, Crete, Corvo (Azores) and others.

John J. Borg  once again to shares some insights from the vast observations and research he has carried out on various islands. The talk will focus on the Scopoli's shearwater (MT:
ÄŠiefa) one of the seabirds which forms colonies along coastal cliffs.

John J. Borg is an Ornithologist and Mammalogist and researches Maltese birds, especially seabird ecology and Maltese micro-mammals mainly bats, two subjects on which he has published extensively.

The lecture will be followed up by a night sky observation at the park – with thanks to dedicated night sky enthusiasts Noel Camilleri and Alex Pace.

Please take a small torch (with a red cover to minimise light pollution) – as there will be  a short walk to the observation site.

The event is free but donations towards the park are appreciated. Places are limited – please book on walks@majjistral.org
