Inspire’s Jingle Bell Jog has become a highly anticipated event, whereby participants make their way to Sliema – this year to the Plaza Shopping Mall – to walk, jog, cycle or run five kilometers in aid of Inspire – The Foundation for Inclusion.
The Jingle Bell Jog ensures that participants of all fitness levels are able to take part and are encouraged to take their own pace by either walking, jogging or running the distance along the Sliema seafront.
In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, participants wear red or full-blown Santa costumes. Some even deck their bikes with tinsel and other festive decorations. Last year over 200 people attended the event and this year Inspire aims at topping that.
Entry Donation is €10 whilst children under 12 can participate for free. Following the run/walk which starts and ends at The Plaza Shopping Centre in Bisazza Street, there will be family celebrations with stalls and entertainment for all to enjoy. All proceeds in aid of Inspire – The Foundation for Inclusion.
Inspire is a non-profit organisation that provides therapeutic, education and leisure services to children and adults with disabilities. Through close relations with parents, Government and the business community, it aims to reach out and help those who are excluded, giving them choice and opportunity and advocating for their human rights and equal access to independence, education, employment, leisure and an inclusive community.
Inspire requires €3 million per year to operate. Its services are either completely free or heavily subsidized, making it heavily dependent on donations, voluntary help, volunteering and social enterprise to continue to provide support to those in need to be able to make a difference in their lives.
