If your children have a taste for baking this course will encourage them to improve their skills in a professional, yet creative environment. Covering a range of baking techniques, food safety as well as educating about the use of local, seasonal and sustainable produce. Each lesson will see a new baking skill being taught. This is done by taking a key technique and showcasing a recipe to highlight that particular skill. In this manner, teens will not only learn how to bake something delicious but more importantly come to understand the underlying principles which will give them the ability to adapt techniques to other recipes at home.
Cooking isn't just about being in the kitchen. Each session will begin with a short theoretical portion as well as an open discussion about certain principles which The Mediterranean Culinary Academy considers integral to creating a future generation of knowledgeable cooks.
