Wednesday 4th February: Popeye Village – Red Tower Circular Walk.
No Transport provided. Meeting time: 2.15 pm. Walk starts at 2.30 pm.
Popeye Village to Red Tower Walk.
The walkers will park in the Popeye Village car park.
Leaving the surfaced road, the ramblers will follow a track to the top of the incline and down to the Nature Reserve at Ghadira. After passing the green summer houses the walkers turn inland and uphill and make their way to the Red Tower at the top of the hill. There may be time to investigate some lovely old beehives close to the tower. The walks turn left onto a surfaced road and soon goes down some steep steps where there are more old beehives to investigate. The ramblers continue down a steep path, by-pass a rubbish dump and make their way back to Popeye Village and to their cars.
Walk is free of charge. Children below 16 years participating in organized walks must be accompanied by an adult.
