Following an extensive restoration of Mistra Battery to its former glory in 2014, Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna is holding its first ever public heritage day at this important historic monument. During this occasion, the public will have the opportunity to see at first hand the results of the restoration work undertaken and to learn more about its history. This activity will also include a string of small-scale historical re-enactments meant to provide a focused window on different aspects of past life at this tiny fort.

The restoration costs for this battery were kindly met by MEPA’s Environmental Initiatives in Partnerships programme and contributions received from corporate and individual donors. However, FWA still needs to raise enough funds to return the full complement of nine (9) cannon complete with their carriages to this battery. Hence, this event will also serve to raise funds for this aim to which everyone is heartily urged to contribute. Details about this part of the project will be presented in the run-up to the heritage day which is being held on Sunday 1st February 2015 between 10.00 and 17.00hrs.

Entrance fees: €3 per adult, €2 for AOPs and €1 for children or €7 for a family group of two adults and three children u/16 years of age.
