Il-Maqluba – Wied Iz-Zurrieq Promenade (C43)
Circular Walk – no transport provided Meeting time; 2.15pm Walk starts 2.30pm
To get to the starting point of the walk take the road under the runway at the airport, to the next roundabout, turn right and then follow the signs for Qrendi. Once on the Qrendi by-pass, keep on to the very end where you will find the chapel of St. Matthew’s and Il-Maqluba.
Near Hagar Qim the walk turns left and continues along the promenade with lovely views across Wied Hoxt and Wied Iz-Zurrieq. The break will be held at a place with spectacular views of the Blue Grotto. Walkers continue along the Wied Iz-Zurrieq promenade to the very end, then walk inland to visit the quaint Tal-Hniena Chapel and the nearby Palazzo Gutenberg. From here the walk meanders back along country tracks to Il-Maqluba and our cars.
