Spend an evening in Casal Fornaro and enjoy the best of Maltese bread making
The “A Night in Casal Fornaro” is a festival that celebrates the Maltese customs, music, traditions but most of all the bread-making. Qormi was referred to as Casal Fornaro by the Knights of St John in the olden days, meaning ‘the village of the baker' as the village is the centre for bread baking in Malta.
This annual bread festival in Malta attracts locals and tourist from all over Malta who visit the traditionally-decorated streets of the village and different exhibitions. The entertainment and food offered during the Casal Fornaro reflect customs and traditions of Qormi.
Listen to folklore music, watch the Maltese bands go by and simply enjoy the old streets of Citta Pinto as they used to be hundreds of years ago.
The bread festival is co-ordinated by the Kummissjoni Zghazagh Bastjanizi, with the cooperation of the Qormi Local Council.
