Paola was founded and built in the year 1626 by the Grand Master Fra Ant. De Paule who wanted to leave a mark of his name in the Island of Malta.  He also embarked to plant orange trees in the same locality of Paola which were a hope of living for the community and the people living there.  His plan was a success and in fact the huge amounts of oranges used to be exported to other various countries.

This event will be commemorating this bygone history and there will be re-enactments to re-live this experience.
