As in previous years, the Parish of Lija is organising a replica of the Last Supper Table according to Jewish custom at the Old Parish Church of Our Saviour.

This is the forty-fifth time that this replica is being made; it is the first one of its kind and has lost none of its original characteristics.

The entrance, which is free, will be approximately every fifteen minutes; visitors are asked to remain inside till the end of the commentary so as not to disturb the others present.

The commentary will be alternately in English and in Maltese.

Wednesday 23 Mar

7.30 p.m. – Opening and blessing of The Last Supper Table.

The opening and blessing ceremony, for which all are cordially invited, is in the form of a prayer-vigil, with singing of hymns, reading of excerpts from the Bible, and sharing of spiritual thoughts. At the end, wine and bread are served to those present in memory of the real event which took place so long ago.
