A new annual event shall be included in Malta’s national calendar. The Malta National Bicycle Ride will start to be held on Independence day, every 21st of September organised under the patronage of H.E. the President of Malta.
Registration for this event is a donation of €10 which will go towards the Malta Community Chest Fund.
On registration, participants will be presented with a commemorative t-shirt and through their registration they will also participate in a lottery giving them the chance to win one of three pedelecs (bicycles where the rider's pedalling is assisted by a small electric motor).
The Registration for this event will open on the day of 21st September at 16.00 in ​​the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure’s car park in Floriana. The bicycle ride will leave from the same car park at 17.00. Cyclists will be accompanied by a fleet of electric vehicles while passing through several locations until the route reaches its end at 18.45 at St George's Square, Valletta where Her Excellency Marie Louise Coleiro Preca will address the participants and present the prizes to the winners.
Reserved parking for participants will be made available at the Car Park next to the Ministry for Transport and Infrastructure.
Participants are required to wear helmets.
