Spring has sprung. Who are we kidding? It's almost Summer. The SPCA Mad Hatter Fair, which will be held on the 31st May 2015 from 11am – 7pm at the Maria Rosa Wine Estate in Attard is the perfect occasion to mark the change in season. The SPCA will be showing off some of its in-house stars on the Rescue Doggy Catwalk and you could also take part with your dog in the 'Scruffs' Dog Show with fantastic categories such as 'Cleverest Dog' and 'Closest Dog and Owner Look-a-like'! There are great prizes to be won as well as trophies and rosettes.
The fair will provide a wonderful Sunday out for all the family. We'll be having various forms of entertainment for the children, including a costume competition, mad hat design competition, bouncy castle, face painting, balloon modelling, glitter painting, animators, games and activities, pony rides and even picnic packs for them! In the meantime, the adults can enjoy browsing the numerous stalls selling pretty little gifts and goodies, try their luck at the adult games and various raffles that will be held during the day, and relax in the glorious spring sun enjoying our sumptuous BBQ washed down with wine from the vineyard! Sample some of the delicious cakes on offer and sit down and keep cool under the umbrellas, ending your meal with a refreshing ice cream.
Try your hand (or rather paw) at Doggy Bowling, or maybe some bingo – whatever your interest, there is plenty to keep you entertained throughout the day. There will even be offering free veterinary consultations on the day, so be sure to bring your pets! There will be a grand lottery as well as music all day long. There are so many prizes to be won on the day; you will be spoilt for choice!
Plenty of parking will be available and you'll be taken on a short ride on the vintage bus where you can take in the beautiful surroundings of the 4.2 hectares of agricultural land where the estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Sirakuzan grape varieties, as well as beautiful olive trees from which pure extra virgin olive oil is produced. The lush, beautiful estate will certainly make a wonderful location for people to enjoy the SPCA Mad Hatter fair with the family.
