The annual Thomas Smith Christmas Charity Swim is back! Now in its 17th edition, the swim will this year be held on 27th December, off the pier in front of the Plough and Anchor Pub, Sliema. The public is encouraged to participate and raise as many funds as possible in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Each participant may fill in a registration form prior to the event, highlighting the donation s/he managed to collect. Family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, are urged to help sponsor swimmers in order to help them raise funds!! In 2014, a total of €12,000 was collected and later donated to H.E. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca at San Anton Palace. Thomas Smith aims to collect even more funds this year, and would once again like to encourage swimmers to raise €50 per participant. Last year 252 swimmers participated in this noble event, and 299 took the plunge in 2013. The question is, how many will be braving the cold waters this year!?

Registration starts at 09.30hrs. H.E. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta, is expected to launch the Thomas Smith Christmas Charity swim at 10:30hrs.
