Celebrate Victory Day at Fort St Angelo on Tuesday 8th September, commemorating two important moments in Maltese history: the end of the Great Siege in 1565 and the surrender of Fascist Italy in 1943. The day also coincides with the celebration of the birth of the Virgin Mary.
The programme begins at 9:30am with Mass at the Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, followed by a commemoration at the Victory of the Great Siege monument.
Throughout the afternoon, visitors can enjoy historical re-enactments by local groups, including Show of Arms, the Malta Historical Fencing Association and the Historical Re-enactment Group of Malta. The Royal Naval Association Malta will also participate with Royal Navy veterans.
Fort St Angelo will be open from 9:00am to 7:00pm, with last admission at 6:30pm. Visitors can also enjoy views of the traditional Regatta taking place in the creek from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
Entry is €3 for adults, seniors and students. Children up to 11 years old and Heritage Malta members with a valid membership card enter free of charge.
Tickets can be purchased from any Heritage Malta museum or site. Heritage Malta passports are not valid for this event.
