Walk starts at 6.15 pm

Meeting Point: Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana

The walk will take participants to Great Siege Road and follow the mighty 16th century Valletta ramparts from where participants have fine views across Marsamxett Harbour to Manoel Island and Sliema.

The walk takes the lower route along the shore and below Fort St Elmo to the breakwater where it is possible to see the new bridge and the remains of the WWII Boom Defense. Walkers will pass Dar il-Meditterran and see the Siege Bell. From here walkers will pass through the Sultan’s Gate and beyond participants enter Ä nien Sir Luigi Preziosi, roam around and continue to the end, into Gnien Vilhena, where it goes around Il- Polverista – a Knights era heavily built gunpowder storage.

From the garden participants go into Triq il-Fosos, and pass by the Knights era granaries. Ahead they cross Triq Sant’ Anna, and pass by more granaries and back to the starting point.
