When should food be introduced? Is there a preference to which food groups should be introduced first? How often should I feed, and what is a healthy age-appropriate portion?

These and more are questions that as parents, guardians or carers we ask as we approach the stage of introducing food to the children we care for.

This Seminar aims at answering these and more questions, and provides practical ways of preparing, introducing and storing food, together with the parental skills required during such a process.

It is specifically designed for parents, carers and guardians of infants approaching initial introduction of food, or those who during the weaning process are struggling or feel confused with the many different messages they are being provided with.

All information given is based on updated latest scientific research within Paediatric Nutrition, and notes will be provided.

Seminar will be held both in Malta and Gozo. Contact them for more details.

This will be followed by a Seminar titled ‘Feeding in the Early Years and Beyond’, for which registration will be out in the coming days. This follow-up Seminar will also be held both in Malta and Gozo.

Interested participants for the Weaning Seminar can apply by sending a private message, or email on nutrihealthmalta@gmail.com

The Seminars will be delivered by Registered Clinical Nutritionist Mariella Porter. Besides earning a Master degree in Human Clinical Nutrition, Ms Porter is also trained in Paediatric Nutrition, and has carried out most of her research work amongst the Maltese Paediatric population.

She is also a warranted Educator, has education very much at heart, and delivers talks and seminars on various nutrition and health topics. Besides having a vast experience in schools with children and adolescents of varying ages, Ms Porter is also certified to deliver courses for parents and adults alike.

Above all Mariella is a mother herself, and has first hand experience when it comes to the initial introduction of food and the weaning stage.

This Seminar will be held this Friday, 5.30 to 8.30pm. Last places left. Anyone interested to attend  email their on nutrihealthmalta@gmail.com for details.
