WOMAD is coming to Malta.
The World of Music, Arts & Dance Foundation is an international established foundation which brings together artists from all over the globe and this year they are coming to Malta!!
The WOMAD foundation in collaboration with St. James Cavalier Centre For Creativity is offering Arts, Music and Dance participatory workshops for children and families on Wednesday 1st May 2013.
During the same week the artists will be visiting primary and secondary schools to carry out various workshops with schoolchildren.
The central aim of these workshops is to celebrate the richness and diversity of music and arts from around the world, to recognise and nurture the innate musicality and creativity in children enabling them to step into the world of the visiting artists and their music.
On Sunday 5th May, all the creations and performances that are to be accomplished throughout the week by all participants will culminate in a celebratory procession, through the streets of Valletta with a finale at the open air theatre. Parents and siblings will be invited to this event.
There are 3 different workshops to choose from. As this is a free event, bookings for each workshop will be accepted on a first come first served basis. All workshops are subject to change.
