
A fascinating maritime heritage event is coming to Xlendi, Gozo this August. Organised by Heritage Malta's Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit, with the support of the Munxar Local Council and the Malta Airport Foundation, the Xlendi Shipwreck Festival will celebrate Gozo's remarkable underwater history over two special evenings on the Xlendi waterfront.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Xlendi Bay, the festival will offer an engaging programme for visitors of all ages.
Highlights include an immersive Virtual Reality dive exploring the Xlendi Underwater Archaeological Park and the famous Phoenician Shipwreck, allowing visitors to discover these extraordinary underwater sites without entering the water. The festival will also feature a display of artefacts recovered from the seabed off Xlendi and a 3D printed model of the Phoenician shipwreck.
